Organisation chart does not show anything or is wrong

The organisation chart is very strict on company structure.

The thing which usually makes the organisation chart behave oddly is if you have more than one employee with no manager set. The logic behind this is that in a hierarchy only the top of the pyramid should have no manager and, therefore, if there is more than one employee with no manager it cannot know which is the top of the pyramid.

If you only have one set with no manager, then ensure all employees have the correct managers assigned as this again can cause errors.

All of our board of directors are set up on Natural HR as employees, but do not have managers. The Chief Executive reports to the whole board (but no individual).

Unfortunately it wont work in this situation as it expects one person to be at the top in a typical hierarchical structure.

Adding in a dummy employee called "board of directors" does the job.

That would certainly work - one thing you might want to do is to assign that dummy employee a role or department called dummy so you can then filter them from reports, for example
